More to come?
How long can you maintain a 15:00min./mile?
NCTRaces: 15x takes place at Palmer's Landing. It is run on the North Country Trail (the Portage Trail section). Simply put, it is a one mile repeat every 15 minutes, until one person is left. If you run faster, you have more "down time" until the next mile starts. Runners need to finish in the 15 minutes, but they do not need to be at the line for the start of the next mile. You can start a lap or mile a few minutes behind (maybe you were in the bathroom), but you still have to make it back in the 15 minute window or DNF.
Technically it is a last runner standing format, but any and all runners (whether running 1 mile or 126 miles) will receive a finisher (or more accurately, a Did Not Finish award). Awards will have a space to fill in the distance you made that year. There are no age or gender categories, last runner standing means last runner standing. The last runner standing will receive a First Place Finisher award. The official results posted after the race is done will list the distance you ran, not DNF.

There will be additional awards available for runners completing 50k, 50 mile, 100k, and 100 mile milestones.
Palmer's Landing will be the Start/Finish, Aid Station, Crew Spot that runners return to every mile. NCTRaces will have a basic Aid Station set up with some food/drinks/aid, but runners are encouraged to set up their own Aid Station area, whether a tent or a car.
How is the race going to go down?
As outlined in the schedule, the race will begin at 9:00 am. Runners will have 15 minutes to complete the one mile trail run and cross the Finish Line. We do not have a chip timing mat, we will be doing results on our own with an iPad. Runners will not be recorded on every lap. You will only be recorded when you DNF. If you do not make it across the Finish Line in 15 minutes, you are out of the race. If you know that you are out of the race because of time, or reach your goal, or wish to be done racing for whatever reason, MAKE SURE YOU TELL AN OFFICIAL SO YOU CAN BE RECORDED AS DNF IN THE IPAD!
The NCTRaces Aid Station will be behind the Finish Line for runners to use once they've come across the Finish Line.
If runners have time, they can stop at their crew spots or cars before crossing the Finish Line.
If runners do not have time, they need to get across the Finish Line and then can go to their crew spots or cars.

RUNNERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BE AT THE START LINE AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH MILE (every 15 minutes). If runners are in the bathroom or changing at their crew tents or cars, that is ok and you are allowed to start the mile late if you choose to, BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO COME TO THE START LINE BEFORE HEADING OUT ON THAT LAP.

Since runners may be milling around at crew spots or cars, or still taking care of business when the next mile starts. If you are ahead of the Start Line (like at your car or crew tent), you will need to come to the Start Line before heading out on that mile lap.

The Beer Mile
There will be a Beer Mile event held at 4:45 pm. Anyone is welcome to join, regular beer, light beer, or N/A beer. The beer mile will be run in loops around Palmer's Landing (2 laps around is .25 mile, so beer-2 laps-beer-2laps-beer-2laps-beer-2laps-finish.

15x participants who run the Beer Mile will still need to complete it in the 15 minute window, or they are out of the race. On one hand, it is a flat mile instead of the hilly trail mile. On the other hand, you are drinking four beers.
